Joe Strohman interviewed Nikki Sloan today.

For our first Club Member Interview of the year, Joe Strohman interviewed Nikki Sloan.  Although Nikki will be our Club’s next President, she could not serve as President of the United States because she was born in Bermuda.

Nkki’s Father was in the Navy so they moved around quite a bit.  Nikki has lived in Bermuda, Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, California, Hawaii, Washington, and Idaho.  One of the most interesting things that she recalls about Hawaii is that many of the children went to school barefoot.

In 1994, Nikki graduated from high school in Idaho.  Thereafter, she attended Idaho State University for one year before relocating to California.  She then attended UCSB until she ran out of funds.  Approximately two years ago, Nikki went back to college at California Lutheran University and subsequently graduated with a degree in Organizational Leadership.

Nikki’s first job was as a teller in a bank.  She recalls going home and crying many times because her draw would never balance.  Since that time, she has only ever worked in the banking industry.  Nikki has worked in various positions including: open accounts, consumer loans, small business loans, wholesale residential loans, and commercial loans.

Nikki is currently employed by Wells Fargo as a Commercial Relations Manager.  She writes loans for businesses that have a minimum of $20 million in annual revenue.  She enjoys her job very much.

Nikki met her husband Mark in 2000 and they were married in 2004.  They met at the gym where she thought he looked quite sexy while doing pull-ups.

Nikki has a variety of interests including:  golf, surfing, skiing, snowboarding, paddle boarding, scuba diving, yoga, and pilates.

Thank you Nikki for sharing your story with us.
