I need to give a huge THANK YOU to all of you came out to support our BBQ team at the Moorpark Beer Festival last Saturday.  This was one of the largest work crews I’ve seen, and with everyone pitching in, the work went very smoothly.

However, we are facing some obstacles; The County Health Department is beginning to enforce a new set of rules that will prohibit our BBQ Trailer from being used for food preparation - as we have been accustomed to do in the past.  Bruce McGee - with Jordan Eller, Augie Ponce de Leon, and the rest of the crew - went to heroic efforts to adapt our setup to the new regulations in short order – principally with the use of enclosed tents (Food Booths) to perform the food prep.

To make matters worse, despite all the work and effort that we put in, we enjoyed only a modest response from the public on Saturday – due to the large number of food trucks at the site.

We will need to reevaluate the entire BBQ operation in light of the more stringent County regulations, the increased competition, and our own ability to sustain the level of effort that it will take to be successful.  We’ll be talking about this over the next few months.

Meanwhile, it’s back to Moorpark in a few weeks to feed the Civil War Reenactment!
