Membership Committee UPDATE!

Many of you may or may not know the Membership Committee is working hard to ensure our Club continues to grow and provides an interesting and engaging platform for all of our Members to do the work of Rotary. On Monday, October 24 we met for the second time to discuss the Committee’s objectives this year. Our biggest objective is to grow our Club’s membership by 15! We need your help to get there.

The Membership Committee is supported with the following members: Nikki Sloan (Chair), Jim Word (Assistant Director), Chad Gibson, Carol Marquez, Jeff Hata, Deborah Roberts, and Terry McBreen. We were blessed with our almighty President, Tom at the meeting in which we discussed quite a few changes we are implementing, but here are a few of the most interesting.

1)      Program speakers will now be introduced at the same time we introduce other visitors and visiting Rotarians. The introduction will be in the same fashion we introduce the guests, with the “HellOOOOO ________!” followed by a more thorough introduction by our Program Co-Chairs just prior to the presentation as usual.

We felt we were missing an additional opportunity to welcome these very important folks who take time to speak to us. And, these folks may be interested in joining our Club too!

Please ensure when you have invited a guest to the Club, they complete the new sign in sheet as well. We will be sure to send them an email thank you and ask them to come back again if they like us!

2)      President Tom will now conduct Board meetings as part of our regular Rotary meetings, when possible, as a means for us all to be more engaged in all of the Club’s activities. Many of us felt disconnected to some of the inner workings and felt this may be a good way to let more of us know what is happening.

On Friday, November 4 we are hosting the first of two orientation meetings for our two newest members, Katrina Dangleman and Al Jonas. Help me welcome our two newest members to the Club and introduce yourself to them!

If you are fairly new member to the Club or just an “old” member who would like to see or hear a refresher about our Club or Rotary in general, call me and I can make arrangements for you to join us!

Our next Club social events are:

            Wine Tasting, Friday, October 28 5:30 – 7:30

            Club Holiday Party, December 10

            Fat Tuesday, February (date TBD)
