President’s Announcements:
  • For members that are not Rule of 85 you are paying for your meals, unless you opted out, so if you do not want to pay for meals notify President Margarida or Todd

Our Opportunity Drawing was a $30 Trader Joes Gift Card donated by Sharon Daly.
 
Roy Valdez spoke about the Poinsettia Fundraiser. We will be sponsoring Cypress Place and providing plants for each resident.
 
Jim Word spoke about the Friends of the Library. They will be having a book sale in the parking lot behind Foster Library. They need help to move books and for set-up and take down.
 
Ashley Pope spoke about the drive through Halloween event on Saturday October 31st. We are probably OK on candy, but if you would like to bring more, drop it off at President Margarida’s office.
 
Amber Stevens reported that we are working with South on a community assessment.
  • Amber has made a contact at the school district that will work with us.
  • Amber also reported that November 16 – 21 is Rotary grateful week. 
 
Joe Strohman spoke with Ericka Mendez, Bob Pazen award recipient has passed her test and is now a R.N.! She will be at our meeting next week.
  • Working on the 4 Way test essay contest.
  • Need nominations for employee of the quarter.
Our speaker was Joe Cahill from the Ventura Botanical Gardens.
 
President Margarida presented a poll on how the club feels about meeting in person.
64% of the club responded they would attend a hybrid meeting.
 
President Margarida conducted the Opportunity Drawing and the winner was Jim Word.
