Meeting March 9, 2017

President Elect Harriet Clune led our meeting. President Husam and many other members of our club were off cruising to Ensenada, Catalina & Santa Barbara this weekend!

 

Vance Thompson led us in our Flag Salute.

 

Joe Strohman gave our Inspirational Message.

 

Tim Hughes gave our Joke of the Day.

 

John Borneman led us in a song.

 

P.E. Harriet let us know that former member of our club Gene Cherry passed away this week. 

 

Todd Juvonen reminded us that the Community Service meeting would be next Wednesday at his office. Todd also passed along a message from Kathy McGee that the Ventura Rotary Clubs would be doing a group work day at the Ventura Botanical Gardens on April 29th. Time TBA.

 

Jim Emch announced our guests and visiting Rotarians. Guests of the club were David Morse and Ashley Pope. Visiting was former member Deborah Roberts. Visiting Rotarian was Norm.

 

Jim Emch also told us that the St. Patricks Day Parade was this Saturday at 10:00 am. The meeting spot is Palm and Thompson.

 

P.E. Harriet told us to look for an article in the Star tomorrow about our upcoming speaker Ron Bamieh. Bill Crookston and Rich Stewart will be heading up PR in Harriet's year.

 

Tim Hughes read a note sent to us from Sabrina who was a scholarship recipient. Sabrina reported that her year was going very well and that she had been selected by her college to study abroad in Spain and in London. She said without the scholarship from our club none of this would have been possible!
