Meeting December 8, 2016

Our guest, Victoria Jacobs, led us in the Flag Salute.

 

Guest of Sharon Daly was her son Kevin. Visiting from Ventura Downtown was Kelly Peterson.

 

Bill Crookston gave our Inspirational Message.

 

John Borneman let us know that Andy Corliss was in hospice. Andy suffered a heart attack and stroke a few weeks ago.

 

Harriet Clune spoke about the Christmas Party on December 16th. Please bring a coat to donate for Downtown's Coats for Kids project. Each club has agreed to bring 3 - 5 items and we will raffle them off to raise money for the Botanical Gardens project.

 

Bob Pazen announced that former member Larry Storch passed away yesterday. Bob & Wendy gave their apologies to the speaker for leaving early because they are going to their first Kings game.

 

Bob Pazen also let us know about the exciting programs he's scheduled for the first quarter.

 

Todd Juvonen said there would not be a Community Service meeting this month. The Can Tree build went well at the Collections and the City Center Christmas party is December 16th at 6:00.

 

Joe Strohman announced that we gathered almost $1,000 for the 3 military families we are sponsoring for the holidays this year.

 

Judy Hoag announced that our Poinsettia Sales netted $10,000 this year. We sold 2,400 plants or 400 cases. Judy also let us know that her Aunt Lilian passed away this morning at the age of 104 years and 11 months.

President Husam announced that we raised almost $6,000 from the opportunity drawing this year.
