President Husam lamented about his recent trip to New York and Boston with his daughters to look at possible colleges to attend. President Husam doesn't know why kids want to go away to college...
 
Jordan Eller announced that we only received 15 scholarship applications this year, an all time low. We received 8 applications from Buena, 1 from El Camino, 3 from Foothill and 3 repeat requests.
 
Past Rotaract President Victor Cai spoke about his fundraiser. Victor will be riding his unicycle 525 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles in 8 Days. Note to Victor, the ride is not all downhill!
Victor pledged to match any donations up to $300 total.
 
Midge Stork announced that our raffle prize was a $50 gift card to Casa De Soria.
 
Joe Strohman let us know that the 4 Way Test Essay winners will be announced on May 11th and we will also be doing Student of the Quarter that day.
 
Joe Strohman also asked all the Avenues of Service Directors to fill out their awards forms. Joe also showed a picture of Pete Gallagher from a book on the History of Ventura County.
 
Melody O'Leary-Namikas delivered our joke of the day, followed by John Masterson and Bob Pazen.
 
Rotaract is doing a fundraiser for the Mexico Build on May 17th from 6 - 10. All you can eat pizza for $10 at the Dominoes on Telephone & Petit.
 
Todd Juvonen said that the last Community Service meeting revisited socials. Our Rotarians at Work Day is April 29th. The YMCA will be doing a work day on the 21st from 2 - 5 at the Botanical Gardens.
 
Bruce McGee passed a sign up sheet around for the work day and announced that the Step Down Dinner would be June 22nd at the Tower Club. More info to follow.
