Cecilio’s Bio

Cecilio Murillo, an Oxnard resident, is the newest member of the Rotary Club of Ventura-East.

A Cal State University - Northridge graduate, Cecilio is the Chief Operating Officer for Easter Seals Tri-Counties, a local non-profit organization providing disability services for children and adults. Having found a passion over a decade ago for working with children and serving others, Cecilio began his work at Easter Seals by starting the county’s only inclusive and adaptive aquatics program for children with special needs, a program that drew families from over a hundred miles away and was later featured on CNN in 2006. Currently he is involved in the expansion, development and operations of new and ongoing services across the tri-county area for those dealing with disabilities and other special needs.

In his spare time, he serves as the Head Coach for the Titan Water Polo Club based out of Rio Mesa High School. Since 2005, he has had part in developing some of the area’s water polo players including members of the first team in RMHS history to win a CIF title. He currently coaches the 14U and 16U teams.

Through his involvement in Rotary, he hopes to continue his commitment to serving his community and make lifelong connections with people of who exemplify service before self.
