GoCare Nicaragua Education Project

The Rotary Foundation approved a global grant to the Rotary Club of Ventura East in partnership with the Rotary Club of Managua, to support our ongoing educational programs in Nicaragua.  The $219,000 grant will help sustain the existing community learning center in the impoverished community of Pantanal, Granada, and will enable the program to expand to the communities of Cuajachillo Dos and La Union, both near the nation's capital city, Managua.
The programs are managed by our cooperating organization, GoCare, founded in 2001 by Ventura East Rotary member Jan Lindsay.  You can find more information about our work in Nicaragua in a recent article by reporter Claudia Boyd-Barrett in the July 11, 2014 issue of the Ventura County Star.
