Last week we heard from Laura Libbey about how she and her husband Russell connect law enforcement and children and families using their amazing horse named Sonny. Dialed in with many agencies to help heal trauma, create dialogue with special needs kids, strengthen relationships in the community, Sonny Horses 4 Kids is creating hope in the world.
Cameron DeJong’s Football (soccer) Showcase at Buena High is on Saturday, March 30th. Last week our Club presented a $500 check for sponsorship. He is still looking for a few volunteers to check in the athletes, help set up etc. Find more information and contact Cameron at: Venturafootballnetwork.com.
Next week we will have representatives from the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast, with whom we are partnering for the Beer, Wine, and Food Festival on June 8th. (Keep looking for sponsors to participate in that event. And tell your friends to save the date.) For next week, we’ll learn about the objectives of the Girl Scouts in the 21st Century; and the enduring tenets of this organization; also, there may be cookies….

This week Paul Alexander passed away after living in an Iron Lung for 72 years. He contracted polio in 1952 when he was 6 years old. In his memory and in dedication to complete eradication of this crippling disease, please consider joining the Polio Plus Society for $100 a year until Polio is history. It’s easy to sign up on my.rotary.org or ask me for a contribution form.
