This week we are meeting on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3rd, no fooling! Set a reminder on your watch or phone!! We will be joining the Ventura Club’s regular meeting time with other Group 7 Clubs for lunch and social time followed by a Virtual ceremony awarding The Rotary Clubs of California the Bernard Osher Philanthropist of the Year. It’s a big honor recognizing the impact Rotary has on the California Community Colleges. Lunch will be at noon as usual. The award ceremony will be in the 1-1:30 timeframe. Since we will not be able to have our regular Happy Dollars and Opportunity Drawing, save up for next week for double the fun.
Thank you to President Elect Dawn for running the meeting last week with our guest speakers Tammie and Summer Helmuth from the Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast. It’s time to get the word out and sell tickets for the 3rd Annual Beer, Wine, and Food Festival we do in conjunction with the Girl Scouts at beautiful Camp Arnaz. The date is June 8th and tickets are $60 for lots of great food, drink, and fun. You will receive a flier in your email very soon to distribute to friends and your social network. Also, you may have noticed, the Club purchased 100 boxes of cookies to be donated to yet to be determined deserving families or programs to spread some of that Thin Mint cheer.
Next week we will be back in our regular time and place with our Student of the Quarter and a program about the good work the Salvation Army does in our County with those bell ringing funds and more. Let’s have a good turnout to recognize our Student awardee. Thank you to Joes Bova and Strohman for coordinating this honor.
Also, mark your calendars for the Scholarship Awards Ceremony on April 25th. This is a highlight of our year and we would like to have at least a couple of Rotarians at each table with the recipients and their families. I may be so bold as to suggest that your attendance is expected, if not required.
